Annual Message from the President
A Decade of Art, Community, and Collaboration
As we look ahead to 2026, this year invites both reflection and anticipation for the Northport Arts Association.
It has been ten years since our building was established and officially opened. This milestone is made possible through the generosity, creativity, and commitment of so many. Across this past decade, donors and sponsors, artists, volunteers, staff, and our dedicated volunteer board have worked together to create and sustain a space where artists can thrive.
This collective effort is the foundation of our continued success, growth, and the thoughtful refinement of what we offer our community.
At the heart of Northport Arts Association is our ongoing commitment to Educate, Collaborate, and Celebrate Art. Our classes, programs, and events remain the cornerstone of our space — evolving alongside the needs, interests, and creativity of our community.
Collaboration has always been central to our story. From the very beginning, it was artists working together around a shared vision. Their vision sparked what would become the catalyst for where we are today. That spirit continues to guide us. To explore our history we invite you to visit Our History. To see our planned events for 2026 visit our Happenings on our website.
There is much to celebrate! From the opening of our building, to the addition of the Clay Studio, to grants that have enabled us to bring art and art education to all reaches of our community, and the many venues we provide for artists to share their work.
We owe a deep debt of gratitude to our Originals. These are the artists and visionaries who established the foundation on which we continue to build. It was a true honor to recognize their contributions during the Originals Show held on the eve of our ten-year anniversary.
As we move forward, we do so with respect for the lessons learned and excitement for what lies ahead. In October, we are hosting our 10-Year Anniversary Celebration, with more details to be shared in the months to come. We are also looking forward to the addition of a new, small creative space within our main gallery. This welcoming space is where artists and visitors can pause, make a cup of coffee, and spend time in a creative state of mind.
From all of us on the Northport Arts Association Board, thank you for being part of our past — and for helping shape our future.
With Gratitude,
Sheen Watkins
President of the Northport Arts Association
