The Clay Studio is in the Village of Northport, a quaint village at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula. The studio consists of 5 electric potter’s wheels, a large Brent slab roller, two canvas covered work tables, a dampening off closet, Coyote cone six glazes, stoneware cone six clay , multiple tools, wedging table, plaster clay recycling section, two large computerized electric kilns in the drying room with several shelf units.
The program is asking for assistance in managing the studio after class hours, helping in recycling of clay, loading and firing our electric kilns. Teaching opportunities for workshops are highly encouraged and separate from the resident program.
Included in the program are the following amenities:
· A chance to work in a fully equipped studio in clay.
· 50lbs of our stoneware clay and use of our Coyote glazes.
· The Studio is close to the marina, restaurants, shops, beaches and the Leelanau State Park.
· Accommodations are included.
· Workshop teaching opportunities
Expectations:
The Clay Residency starts on August 10th, move in date will be August 9th continuing for 3 weeks until August 29th.
All artists work shall be completed at the end of the residency with no opportunity for storage or shipping of wares.
A stipend of $750 will be paid at the end of the time.

If you are interested in teaching a workshop during your residency you must have the class completely written up with expectations, any materials needed, time of the event and number of minimum/maximum students needed to take the class. Your fees should be included in your proposal.
