This class will contain both beginners and advanced artists. It will focus on Landscape Painting. Especially the beautiful Leelanau Landscape. The general essentials of oil painting will be covered (materials and handling of materials.): canvas, brushes, medium, easels, etc. The importance of composition will be stressed.
MATERIALS TO BRING TO CLASS:
BRUSHES: Flats sizes 2,4,6,8,10. Rigger Brush (small with long thin hairs also called a “Liner”. One small Round.
CANVAS: Three12x16 stretched canvases.
PAINTS: Ivory Black, Titanium White, Ultramarine Blue, Manganese Blue, Viridian, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium yellow deep, Cadmium Yellow light, Burnt Sienna, and Yellow Ocher PALLET KNIFE: For mixing paint and painting effects.
BOTTLE OF LIQUIN: (Medium for thinning paints).
ARTIST’S TURPENTINE: (To clean brushes)
SMALL BOTTLE OF DAWN DISH SOAP (To clean brushes)
A PAINTING BOX TO CONTAIN YOUR MATERIALS.
ROLL OF PAPER TOWEL
EASEL: Either a table easel if you need to sit while painting or a Standing Easel. (Painting while standing is by far the preferred method.). We have some standing easels on hand.
I may have some brushes available for sale. Also some other materials will be on hand if you need them.
