Arguably one of the easiest and least understood ways to make your watercolor paintings stand out is through the use of color. In this class you will be shown by demonstration and hands on, how to see new colors and to apply them to your paintings. You will learn which colors are compatible with other colors and how to successfully use them to enhance your painting. I will furnish you with a photograph of the subject for that day, and we will all work on the same subject. Our subjects will be landscapes, which will allow us to explore the various colors in foliage as well as the rest of the scenery. You will be shown colors in your subject that you may not have seen before and learn to add compatible colors to give your watercolor painting a dramatic effect. I will paint a portion of the painting and then stop and let the students do the same on their painting. We will repeat this until the painting is complete. I think you will learn a whole new vista of colors to add to your painting knowledge.
I have added a new video system to project an image of my painting procedure while I am demonstrating to make it much easier for you to follow me.
½ sheet of Watercolor Paper for each painting
I recommend Arches 140 or 300lb cold press (I prefer bright white)

I use round #6, #8, #12 and 1 inch flat brushes.
I use Golden Talkon Bristle brushes –reasonable price and good brush
I suggest “Pebeo” or “Winsor Newton” as good choices
